All the rods have been replaced with the smaller new rods (which are used in the bottom in actuators) in the mechanical arm with the smaller rods. Testing indicated that they work fine. There is a problem with one of the slave PCB's which is now being repaired by Derek.
The speed has to be significantly improved to suite the hamster's speed. Some planetary gears with 1:16 ratio has been ordered.
Also we are looking at changing the stepper motors to a low voltage (12V) motor since the one we are using now is rated at 65V but operating at 12V which does not allow us to reach the rated speeds.
Most of the components required for the back up circuits have been ordered from Farnell and should arrive within this week.
